Written by Nora Raleigh Baskin
Natalie Gordon's mother walked out on her four years ago, leaving her wondering who she is and emotionally scarred. She sets out on a journey involving a twenty-four hour bus ride to find not only her mother, but herself. Along the way she meets other people who also have stories that have never been told.
This novel will resonate with young people, as many face situations similar to Natalie's. Questions on friendship, love versus sex, and a desire to fit in are explored with insight, and the ending leaves you feeling hopeful. Recommended for middle grades, 8-11.
