Julian Rodriguez, a Federation First Officer disguised as an 8 year old boy, reports to the Mothership on the bizarre behavior of Earthlings during festivities: the ceremonial dress, the relative ("genetically linked mini-brains"), various orbs of entertainment and the associated games, and the mysterious concoction of various brown nutritional molecules.
This is a combination of a graphic novel and an easy chapter book. I found the story clever and very funny. The graphics were not as good as the first book. Although the concept is great for the intended age reader, I am wondering if the vocabulary is too difficult: "unhygienic," "breached," "subterranean containment facility," etc.

This was a very good book. Sometimes we forget that the Internet can cause the most danger to people all over the world. The story begins with a CIA Agent going to see one of the worst criminals in the world. He is in a maximum security cell. He is a 14 year old boy who can hack into computer systems. A worm and a virus is about to be unleashed on the internet that day. It has the potential to do extreme damage throughout the world. The agent gets him to break the code and stop the worm. He does this and in the process changes the codes in the prison so he is able to escape. You then find out that he started the virus and figured that they would come to him to help stop it. He ends up walking out of prison and the one agent is stuck in Tim's cell. It will be 11 hours before he is checked on. What damage can Tim do now that he is once again out.

This was an OK book. I had a hard time following everything that was going on. Buck and Agate are the main characters. They try to prevent the Mosquito King from taking over. Buck and Agate are spirit hunters. They belong to a group that has special powers and they are once again faced with an old enemy named Coyote. It may have been easier to follow if I had been more aware of old indian legends.

This was an interesting book. This is about a young girl who does not want to see herself or her parents age. She is very concerned about growing old. She reads a book about a man who ate carp guts and it extended his life. She decides to try this out on her parents without them knowing about it. She sees a big difference in their health and energy. However, she also starts to see some side effects. This in turn affects her baby brother. Her parents and brother are turning into apes. She has to come to terms with her own existence and realize that getting old is not so bad. This was interesting and made me think about getting old myself.

There are three short mysteries in this book. Each mystery involves a sport - racing, soccer and baseball. Cam always has an interesting way of solving mysteries and these stories are no exception. I think the readers will enjoy the memory games in the back of the book. I would recommend this book for a newly independent reader. It would hold their interest.
