This book reminds me a bit of Harry Potter or Percy Jackson. There is a girl who doesn’t realize what she is until she is brought to a magical world. There is a lot of mystery. The characters are likeable. It does end in a cliffhanger, so be prepared with book 2, The Grim Adventure (which hasn’t come out yet, as of March 13, 2025 when I’m writing this). And now I have to wait to find out more of the story. This book is probably better for grades 4+ because the vocabulary and the writing takes a little bit to follow. It’s well written, just took me a few chapters before I could keep the different characters straight.
