Has your buffalo always loved music? Does he hum when he’s cleaning his room? Sing in the shower? Has he written a symphony? (Joking! Most buffaloes don’t write their first symphonies until middle school.)
Written by Audrey Vernick ; illustrated by Daniel Jennewein
In this follow-up to Is Your Buffalo Ready for Kindergarten? Audrey Vernick inspires us with ways to help our buffalo identify his talents and try new things. Specifically, it advocates the playing of the drums as a skill no buffalo should be without. Once again we have the sly narrative voice and the simple line drawings, but this time around the reader is left to infer just a little bit more based on what’s drawn and not said, or said and not drawn. A worthy sequel to Vernick and Jennewein’s first buffalo book.

I love the idea of a buffalo for a main character in a picture book. Looks like a wonderful book to share with students at storytime.
This sounds like a “must have” for our library. How did you know I brought my Dhumbe drum to school to teach children that there is rhythm in everything? This title sounds like it’s a perfect fit!
