This book is an excellent one. Of all the books I have read and reviewed this year, this is the first one that I can easily say I would give five stars to. Young NaTasha has been living in an all-white neighborhood for most of her life. When her grandma Tilly decids to have her live with her in New York City for a week or two, Tash agrees, not thinking of what things would be like. Suddenly she is thrown into a world where drinking and drugs are an everyday occurrence and boyfriends will beat their girlfriends without much thought otherwise. Tash finds herself volunteering at a local place for girls who have major issues in their lives.
Altogether this is one of the greatest books I have read and I hope to be able to pass it on many times to other people.
