Blood Magic is very different from most books within the fantasy/magic genre. It’s main focus is blood.
Silla’s parents are dead by what most think of as a murder/suicide. But Silla doesn’t believe this and delves into her father’s spell book to see if she can find the answers. Soon Silla, her brother Reese, and friend Nick are caught up in the world of Blood Magic as they try to unravel the happenings behind her parents’ deaths. Not my favorite book, but much more real and believable then some of the other witch/fantasy books out there.

Students will pick this book up because of the cover. To bad that it is not rated very high.
This sounds like an interesting twist on a theme that permeates YA fantasy fiction. “BLOOD”
