A father, lost in sorrow from the loss of his wife, sells their home and buys a sailboat. He takes his three sons sailing around the Bahamas for a year. One morning the boys wake up out in the middle of the ocean and their dad is gone. The boys have to survive and take care of each other. The story deals with the relationship between the oldest son and the father and the relationship of the three brothers. A great book! Exciting!

15-year-old Ben and his two brothers and father set off on a year long sailing trip to help the family recover from the death of their mother. Along the way they learn how strong they are and how much they mean to each other. This is a great sea yarn, full of wisdom and love. The writing is beautiful. Anyone who longs for the ocean will love the author’s descriptions. There is adventure, teenage angst, terror, grief and drama. You will come away with a new-found understanding of how teenage boys see their dads. It’s a great story for readers of all ages, male and female.
