Written by Marie Lu
This is a dystopian, futuristic post-plague story about two teenagers living in the Republic, which was once the United States. The republic is now at war with its neighbors, the colonies. Fifteen year old June is considered to be one of the most gifted members of the Republic’s military. When June’s brother is killed, Day, born into slums and considered a fugitive, is the main suspect. June is determined to find her brother’s killer. She sets out on a quest to find Day and to bring him back to the Republic but soon starts to question if Day is really responsible for her brother’s death. I love a mystery and couldn’t put this book down as the mystery of June’s brother’s murder unraveled. In this fast paced novel the reader will both love and hate the characters. Can’t wait for the sequel.

The kids are always walking in and asking where the mystery books are. This book sounds like a good answer for them, and one we don’t have in our library.
Debbie,
Thanks for claiming this book for Hunter Jr. It’s on its way.
