Written and Illustrated by Inga Moore
Captain Cat loves cats more than anything in the world. When he trades his wares at ports, he always trades for cats. And his ship, the Carlotta, is full of them. At the end of each day he loves to settle down with them and his maps and dream of all the beautiful places he would love to visit. Then one day he decides to make his dream come true. He sails away with a small crew and his cats, but gets blown off course from a storm and ends up on a remote and lonely island where they meet the Queen and all who live there. Although this is a beautiful place, it is overrun with rats. Captain Cat solves that problem with his many cats. As a reward, the Queen gives Captain Cat treasure beyond compare and he leaves his beloved cats and sails away to complete is dream. But this is not the end. Read Captain Cat, a beautifully illustrated old Italian tale by master illustrator Inga Moore, to find out what happens and learn what is truly valuable.
