By Kadir Nelson
This is a beautifully illustrated story about sharing. The expressions on the character’s faces are wonderful! The message is clear – being selfish doesn’t work out as well as being kind. It is a nice story to share with a child. There could be a lot to talk about and great connections to make.
The story itself has about 80 words, so the reader will need to pay careful attention to the pictures to find meaning. This is a great skill for very young children, and the message is a good one for them too.
The author does use print size and placement to help guide the reader. It is a nice book, and the pictures are very engaging.
