A group of 4th graders at Roosevelt Elementary read the book Just Jake by Jake Marcionette and they were excited to share their thoughts about the book. One thing that students thought was neat about the book is that it was written by a 12-year-old boy. Students explained that the book is about a boy named Jake who has moved and will be starting 6th grade at a new school. Students said they liked Jake’s “awesomeness!” They didn’t like the way Jake was bullied at his new school, but they did like the way things turned out. Their teacher appreciated the way her students could relate to Jake. The illustrations in the book helped make the book even more fun.
