This is a very interesting book about actual soldiers in the Navy who showed great courage during their time of service. There is at least one tale of bravery per war, beginning with the Civil War and ending with the ongoing conflict with terrorism. Each section gives the dates of the war along with who the victor was, as well as listing each side’s casualties. The stories are inspiring and are only a page or two, keeping the interest of the younger reader. There is a glossary of military words to also help the younger reader. I particularly appreciated the list of Military Awards at the start of the book with a description for each award. The book can be ordered in a set that includes Army, Air Force, and Marines.
