Fantastic book about a girl, her dog, and their gathering words on a word walk. Excellent book for classroom teachers to introduce keeping a word list to help with stories. What’s fabulous about this book is that it is so instructive, but it is still a great story.
The little girl, Tulip, gets a journal from her grandmother in the mail. She and her dog go on a walk and discover interesting things. Tulip writes and draws these thoughts in her journal. Then she and her dog Rex create a new story that weaves these ideas together beautifully.
The illustrations are fresh and fun to look at. The designs and details give depth to the book and story. Sweetly done, and great teamwork. I look forward to reading their first book, Tulip Loves Rex, and hope there are more collaborations in the future.

What a fun book, sounds like a good book to read to a student that is interested in writing. Thanks!
