Written by Phyllis Root, Illustrated by Helen Craig
The story isn’t great, but there isn’t anything particularly bad either (unless you consider that it couldn’t be true as a flaw – the sun and snowflakes don’t usually wear hats.) This is a preschool-type book. It is cute and has weather-related situations in it. It’s nice that there is a beautiful knitter in the story. There are some fun literary elements about how the animals stutter because they are so cold. The illustrations are friendly and colorful. They compliment the story well. Kids will probably like the pictures and the kindness of Bonnie, the creative knitter.
