Tales from Deckawoo Drive, #2
Written by Kate DiCamillo, Illustrated by Chris Van Dusen
Francine is from a long line of animal control officers and she is considered to be the best. Much to her chagrin, a raccoon has bested her, which causes her to rethink her passion for her life’s work. When urged by the town to capture the raccoon, will Francine honor their request or not?
This offshoot of the popular Mercy Watson series didn’t ring my bell so much, but the students will probably enjoy it. It does illustrate the importance of facing our fears and following our passions.
