This is a book that I think could be a hit with Diary of a Wimpy Kid fans. It has few words on each page and lots of sketches and drawings that move the story along quite well. I find this type of reading exhausting, but kids seem to like it. This book is the 3rd in a series and I did not know that when I picked it up. It was ok without reading the other books, but I feel like the characters would have felt more developed if I had read the other books first. It is about Tom, who is a middle school “funny guy,” and a whole lot of other characteristics that define middle school boys. He is embarrassed by his parents, doesn’t particularly love school and has many misadventures. It was an easy read and I will be purchasing the others in the series to add to my humorous fiction section.
