Greenling is a fun and thoughtful picture book. Pinfold does a great job using color to emphasis the life the Greenling brings in contrast to the muted browns of the surroundings. The art is interesting and compelling. The landscape is set in Australia. The story is told with a nice rhyme and rhythm. There is humor in the story while at the same time showing the importance of letting things grow, and the beauty these things (and people) may bring to our lives even though it changes our lives and way of doing things.
