The Sky Stirs Up Trouble is a book about tornadoes. Bel and her mom explain about tornadoes to Dylan, Bel’s cousin. Dylan does not know about tornadoes and is nervous about the tornado siren. Throughout the book are footnotes about tornadoes. Bel shows how cake and tornadoes are alike–they both need the correct ingredients. I think young readers will enjoy the correlation between tornadoes and cake!
