By Philip C. Stead
Stead himself states what this book is about in the first pages of the book, “I have to write a story today….But today I don’t have any ideas.” He says this twice. So what do you do when you don’t have ideas for a book that needs to be finished? You fill the pages with a list of things you did for the day: walked the dog, talked to the neighbor, look at the sky. Though the writing has a poetic, gentle feel and the illustrations are clever, this book may be boring for children. It is listed as a picture book, but might be better suited for a junior high class discussion on how to find ideas for a writing assignment.

I agree this book is a better fit for older students who can discuss it.
