Written by Jenny Manzer
This is a well-written story of Nico Cavan, a teenage girl from Victoria, Canada, on the search to discover why her mother abandoned her as a young child. She discovers her mother’s love of music, namely the popular grunge band, Nirvana. She learns all she can about the lead singer, Kurt Cobain, and tries to make connections between him and her mother. On a ferry ride from Seattle to Victoria, Nico has an interaction with a man whom she believes to be Kurt Cobain himself. Nico pleads with this man to help her find her mother. He helps in different ways and eventually, Nico discovers the truth about what happened to her mother. Many teenagers of today may not know who Kurt Cobain is or have never heard of Nirvana, but the beautiful writing and fascinating story is sure to interest any music lover.
