The Great Thanksgiving Escape

the-great-thanksgiving-escapeWritten and Illustrated by Mark Fearing

This is a rib tickler, because as an adult you can remember so well those family Thanksgiving dinners at relatives’ houses. These two cousins, Gavin and Rhonda, are put into a room with smaller cousins, so they try to sneak out of the house. They encounter ferocious dogs, the hall of pinching aunts, and the great wall of butts. Eventually they make it to their final destination where they make their own fun.

Great holiday book for a library collection.

  1. We have read this one to our classes at Monroe for the past two years and the kids always love it. Thank you for the review.

  2. We read this book to our classes at Oquirrh Hills Elementary last week before Thanksgiving. It always gets lots of giggles at the “Wall of Butts” part.
