Mark of the Thief by Jennifer A. Nielsen. I already shared it with the 6th graders and am going to buy more copies for them today.

To Stubborn to Die: A Child of Nordhausen by Cato Jaramillo

It was a picture book and I can’t remember the name of it.
What kind of reader were you as a child? What childhood books and authors stick with you the most?
I liked to read. The books I liked were ones about Clara Barton and the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. My mom read to us, mostly because I had a brother that was a non-reader. It was fabulous for us, except when he had to read The Pearl by John Steinbeck. Ha!

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo

The textbook for 10th grade Geography

2nd Graders- The Spiderwick Chronicles by Toni DiTerlizzi

The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom, The Book of Mormon, and a book by Erma Bombeck.

Les Misérables is so sad, but so good. The Hiding Place is a book you need to read over and over, it really touches your heart and Corrie Ten Boom is such an inspiration, I love that book too. I sure enjoy your e-mails and friendship!
Ugh! I didn’t like The Pearl by John Steinbeck so much either, although I’m sure it is much better than your geography textbook! The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom however, is one of my all time favorite books. I have read it both as a youth and an adult. It’s one of those books that forever changes you. Thanks for sharing. It’s so fun to get to know everyone better!
