Avery spends every summer at her Grandma’s farm. The past couple of summers she has been playing “Kingdom,” the imaginary world she and her brother created. This summer though, her brother says he’s too old to play “Kingdom” and Avery doesn’t take it very well.
Luckily, she meets Julian, who is renting one of her Grandmother’s cottages with his dad and younger sister. Julian and Avery become quick friends and Julian shares with Avery how he wants to film a movie about ghosts. That’s when things start to go awry because the one place Julian wants to film is the one place Avery’s Grandma has absolutely forbidden her from entering.
The book is a quick read, but I think it’s more suited for Junior High students. It’s a great story for those who like a good ghost story but can still sleep after with the lights out.
