The Warden’s Daughter

Written by Jerry Spinelli

This is a great book about the life of a girl who has lost her mother, and her father is the prison warden. It focuses on how she interacts with the female prisoners. One inmate is sent to her house, and she wants the woman to be a mother to her. When one inmate who she had befriended dies, it tears her up inside and she doesn’t know how to handle it. To top that off she is a 12 year old turning into a teenager. She deals with a friend who wants her to get an autograph of a killer. Her life becomes hard and she can’t seem to handle it, but the ending is a great one.
