Setting:
The setting is Stony Brook, a little town where most people know each other. Caitlin used to live in Connecticut. The book was based mainly in the winter. Both of Caitlin’s parents died when she was a young girl. Part of the book was a couple of days before she moved to Stony Brook to live with her aunt and uncle, who she’s never met. The setting is also based around vampires.
Characters:
Caitlin, she is new to Stony Brook. Her parents both died before she was 17. The devil wants her.
Adrian, very mysterious. He saves Caitlin’s life and is a vampire, living with his siblings, His mother is dead, and his father is the devil. He is also Caitlin’s “bodyguard”/fake boyfriend.
Rachel & Joe, Caitlin’s aunt and uncle who she now lives with but had never met.
Norah, Caitlin’s cousin.
Trish, Caitlin’s new best friend in Stony Brook.
Lucian, Adrian’s little brother who has been locked up by his father.
Julian, Adrian’s older brother who is passive aggressive.
Mariana, Adrian’s older sister who acts like his aunt.
Good Points:
It has a lot of imagery, and as I read this book I could always picture what was happening in my head. It was similar to Twilight.
Ending:
The ending fit the story, but I was disappointed that it ends as a cliffhanger.
