Louie the Chihuahua was the center of his owners’ world. He had a great life with his “Mom and Dad,” going for walks everyday rain or shine, shopping, eating ice cream, and having dinner at the table. Even movies, good night kisses and sleeping on their bed. This was the stuff most dogs could only dream about. Then “they” started to appear on play dates. First one, then two, then four! “They” pulled on his ears and squeezed his tummy! “HELP!!” Louie can only be grateful “one of those” didn’t live in his house. But, what’s this? Cold dinner, in his bowl, on the floor? Now Mom’s tummy is growing and growing and growing, until finally one night, “IT KICKED ME!!” And what’s with this buying “two” of everything?
This book just made me laugh out loud. It is so perfect in portraying a displaced sibling’s feelings with the arrival of a new baby. The illustrations have a retro look that is brilliant in their use of color and droll humor. This was just a sweet and funny book with a surprise ending that can’t help but make you smile.

I love the cover! Sounds like a great book for everyone, but especially those expecting a new family member. I love the variety of books that are out now dealing with that situation.
This book is so funny! I know that if I had the nerve to bring a baby home…my puppy would be pretty upset too. The illustrations tell you exactly how the dog is feeling.
