What a fun spin on the book “This Is the House that Jack Built!” I can’t wait to read it to my classes. It will be perfect to read at Halloween. The story adds different spooky characters and then some surprise visitors appear. The illustrations are great too!

I think I saw this one in the book fair and now I’m mad I didn’t get it. I love an fractured version of an original tale. I found an activity (link below) for “This is the House that Jack Built” a while ago and I’ve been meaning to use it – I wonder if it could be adapted for this as well.

Thanks for this review. I am always on the look out for new Halloween books and reading this and looking into the link that Christine shared could make for a great storytime for the students. I also love Jared Lee’s illustrations!
I think all of us are always looking for new Halloween books that have both a great story and illustrations. This one looks like it has both! Thanks for sharing with us!
This book caught my attention because of the cover. Now I want to read it to see who the surprise visitor is. ;-)
I just ordered this book for our library from Scholastic. Now I am so excited to get it!
