For Louie Burger, things are going great in the fifth grade until Louie’s dad goes on a business trip for two weeks and Louie is stuck in a house full of girls. uddenly it’s glittery makeup, yappy princess dogs, love notes from his grandma, and heart-shaped pancakes all the time. To make matters worse, when Louie gets into a fight with his girl-best-friend at school, he finds himself stuck in a boys-versus-girls prank war. How can Louie defend himself when he is constantly under attack by girlzillas? How can he go to “Growing Up Night” without his dad?

I thought the story line was good. It dealt with a lot of feelings and issues of becoming preteen but I was uncomfortable with the bullying, name calling (jerkball) and discussing things like boogers and barf. Louie’s way of expressing himself were words all starting with “barf.” Such as: barfburger, barftastic, barfilicious, and barforrible. The students will probably LOVE it!
