Jack London and the Klondike Gold Rush

Written by Peter Lourie, Illustrated by Wendell Minor

Jack London headed north to strike it rich in the Klondike. At twenty-one he was among the hundreds of thousands of Stampeders, as they came to be known, who left their dull and dreary lives all over the globe in order to make a dangerous journey into the heart of Canada’s Yukon Territory. This took place between 1896-1899. I enjoyed learning more about what went on during the Gold Rush. Some got rich, some didn’t. Jack London was a very smart and tough man. A lot of his stories came from his time in the Yukon.
