The Treasure Box

Written by Margaret Wild, Illustrated by Freya Blackwood

The Treasure Box is a touching story. It is about a family that leaves their home during wartime and can only take a few possessions. The one possession saved of most value is a book. It is just not any book, but it is about their family. This story teaches the importance of books and how they have personal meaning. Even though it is a picture book, the setting and events that take place in the story would best suit an older audience that will understand and appreciate its powerful message.
