Martin Luther King : The Peaceful Warrior

Written by Ed Clayton, Illustrated by Donald Bermudez

This book by Ed Clayton about Martin Luther King was originally published in 1964. It has been updated for a new generation and the illustrations add to the amazing story. The book has a forward by the author’s widow. It is very interesting to read about the connection between Ed Clayton and Martin Luther King. Fourth through sixth grade students will read this book and gain a deeper understanding of the tumultuous times in which this book took place. Also they will gain an appreciation of what Martin Luther King Jr. sacrificed to make our country, and its people, better.
