Bizzy Mizz Lizzie

By David Shannon

Bizzy Mizz Lizzie is a delightful story about the busiest bee in Hivetown. In her effort to meet the Queen someday, Lizzie is involved in everything – sports, dance, acting, art, music, and honey scouts. When she’s chosen to participate in the spelling bee, with the prize being the opportunity to meet the Queen, she studies so hard and is so exhausted that she falls asleep during the competition and doesn’t wake up for three days! Rest is the best medicine for this busy bee, and one day while relaxing in the garden with her best friend, Lazy Mizz Daizy, she is surprised to meet the Queen who is “busy doing nothing.” Lizzie learns to stop and smell the flowers, which, is “exactly what bees are supposed to do.” David Shannon’s signature humor and illustrations teach a timely lesson about over-scheduling.
