Written and Illustrated by Christie Matheson
This nonfiction book is a fun Look and Find game as children try to find all the different types of birds listed on each page. The book starts out with the author challenging readers to “find ten black-capped chickadees perching in the trees.” As you turn the page you count down and each page has a different type of bird to find, with mention of a characteristic or two about that particular bird. The illustrations are beautiful and the last two pages talk in more detail about the different birds listed in the book. The book inspires readers to go out and try some actual bird watching!
