Witchborn

Written by Nicholas Bowling

Set in 1577 England. After her mom is executed for being a witch, Alyce is sent to a bedlam asylum. There, she is starved, mistreated, and the brunt of the guard’s mirth. When the guards try to send her off with witch hunters, she manages to escape and is rescued by an innkeeper and her adopted son. With only a note from her mother to find the man known as John Dee at the Hangman. With England divided by two rival queens, Alyce soon learns that she is the key to saving England. To do so, however, she will have to master the powers that she never knew she had. Will she succeed? Told through alternating points of view of Alyce and her pursuers, this dark, twisted fantasy thriller is action-packed, engaging, and hard to put down. The characters are likable and make readers want to keep seeing what will happen next. Fans of dark fantasy, adventure, and mystery will enjoy reading this book.
