Written and Illustrated by Amy Young
Best friends Lucy and Sparkle are enjoying some winter fun as they prepare for Christmas. Lucy explains to Sparkle the traditional procedures that lead up to Christmas, and the best part: presents, and lots of them. In fact, Lucy makes sure Sparkle has a long list of gifts SHE wants. Sparkle does not disappoint, however, it may take some time for Lucy to realize that. Fun story and strong message, along with the vibrant colors and delightful illustrations, make it a wonderful Christmas read.

A book about a unicorn and Christmas: anyone would think that this book would be perfect for unicorn lovers, at least that is what I thought. I disliked that Sparkle was a unicorn that resembled and acted like a goat instead of a horse. The story also lacked interest and originality. Basically, it is about a girl named Lucy who is excited about getting a present from Sparkle for Christmas and is greatly disappointed when she finds nothing underneath the Christmas tree. Overall a dull book and is saved from the recycling bin because of enthusiastic unicorn lovers.
