Usually Jewish families fry potato latkes for Hanukkah. In Sadie’s family they have a twist on their holiday tradition, because Dad is Jewish and Mom is from India. In place of latkes, the family prepares Indian Dosas. The challenge of preparing for this family’s Hanukkah celebration is that Sadie climbs everywhere and causes quite the distraction–especially for her big brother!
In the end Sadie’s climbing skills save the day. At the end of the book, the author shares two recipes from the holiday meal.
