Bones: An Inside Look at the Animal Kingdom

Written by Jules Howard, Illustrated by Chervelle Fryer

The human skeleton is amazing, but have you ever wondered about why skeletons are different for every living creature? Bones: An Inside Look at the Animal Kingdom briefly covers different aspects of a skeleton. This includes jaws, digging, grasping, holding weight, jumping, gliding, running, and swimming. Each section discusses why certain animals specialize in a skill and provides an illustration of the animal’s skeleton.

I loved this book! I learned so many things about famous animals and not-so famous creatures. I loved the detail in explaining the makeup of the animal’s skeleton while maintaining my interest. It is a great book for animal and science lovers. You are guaranteed to learn something new as you explore the animal kingdom with this book.
