The House by the Lake

Written by Thomas Harding, Illustrated by Britta Teckentrup

A true story of a house by a lake in Germany. A Jewish doctor built the house for his family to have a place to get away from the city life and relax. During World War II, the family had to escape Germany and leave their home. Three families would later move into the house at different times. The great-grandson of the original owner felt the need to purchase the home and bring it back to life.

Amazing story and beautiful illustrations make this book a must read for anyone interested in World War II history.
