The mermaid needs help because the Kraken is eating animals, called capricorns (sea goats.) It is a serious problem. The Princess in Black and her friends get to see the underwater kingdom and animals. They try to fight the Kraken, but they have never fought in water so it is very hard. The mermaid gets brave and helps save the day. I like this book.
