Written by Laura Gehl, Illustrated by Andrea Zuill
This is a cute little book about a unicorn who wants to fly like the birds. So Donut and her friends take it into their own hands, with many ideas on ways to fly. Through all the ups and downs ( literally) , Donut’s friends are right there trying to help. Does Donut ever get to fly? The answer is in the book and I don’t give spoilers.
The pictures in this book are really cute. This would be a great book for early readers, in that most of the pages only have one-to-two words on them. The rest of the story is told in the pictures. This book could also be a way to open up discussion on different ways things fly, and why it works for some and not others.
