Bug Boys: Adventures and Daydreams

Written and Illustrated by Laura Knetzger

Adventures and Daydreams is the third book in the Bug Boys graphic novel series about Stag-B and Rhino-B, two bug friends experiencing the world together. This time around the two friends start by having a sleepover with their pal Dragonfly. They all tell their own version of the same story and debate which version is the right one, finally realizing that each version is valid. They also travel to the coast for an adventure under the sea, where they get to dive in an air bubble to the bottom of the ocean and meet the creatures beneath. In their next adventure, they find a treasure map in an old tree that leads them to a long forgotten cicada who is waiting for the next time she can meet up with her family. Each adventure brings them new friends from the bug world and new experiences that help them learn about themselves and their friendship. The artwork is very colorful and enlarged text helps young readers, but the vocabulary is deceptively advanced. So while young readers will be drawn to this, older kids will like it too. A fun addition to the series!
