This is a fun book full of bright colors and rhyming text. This is the story of everyone in the ocean coming together to celebrate Mermaid Day. Many happy ocean creatures join in the fun. There are appearances from narwhals, sharks, walruses, dragons, seahorses, etc. I enjoyed the mermaid puns as well as creative art puns. An electric eel seemed like an electric marquee, making announcements and other funny comments pertinent to the story. The party is moving along “swimmingly” when a shark enters. After a few tense moments, he is welcomed and the fun continues. This is a fun, colorful book that anyone can enjoy! Bonus: The cover has glitter!
