The Notorious Scarlett and Browne

Written by Jonathan Stroud

Scarlett and Browne’s reputations from book one are catching up with them. Scarlett is a quick-draw specialist and Browne is her easily distracted mind reading companion. Since their previous adventures, the duo has caught the attention of brutal crime lords. Now, they must rescue their friends from their clutches. To do so, they must hijack a shipment of artifacts from a heavily guarded pre-Cataclysm site. Making matters worse, Faith, a highly skilled telepath, is hot on their trail. Will they succeed?
Full of cliffhangers, narrow escapes, and cannibals, the plot is engaging and hard to put down. The characters are likable and become more developed as the author shares pieces of their childhoods. Fans of Jonathan Stroud, adventure, and science fiction or fantasy will enjoy reading this book. It is recommended, however, that readers read the first book.
