Detector Dogs, Dynamite Dolphins, and More Animals with Super Sensory Powers

Written by Christina Couch & Cara Giaimo, Illustrated by Daniel Duncan

This is a fun nonfiction book about animals that use their enhanced senses to help humans. From dogs that find whale poop in the ocean, to goats that clear weeds to help the spread of wildfires, to dolphins who detect underwater mines, this book delves into the lives of these animal helpers. Each chapter covers a different animal and how they use their special senses to help humans. I love that there are also experiments for kids to try at home to use their own senses in fun ways as well. Photos, illustrations, and fun facts make this book appealing for middle grade students.
