Written by Wendy Mass, Illustrated by Gabi Mendez
This book tells a story about a girl who moves across country with her dad for his summer project to help others discover virtual reality. This girl was named after a 250-year-old tortoise and she is not interested in making new friends or doing anything since her mom had to leave. Addie eventually makes friends with Mateo and they learn to work together to help others with VR on a project of their own. The ending has a surprise I did not expect. Both children had traumas of their own but learned to work through it.
This book has addiction, grief and science content.I would recommend to students who enjoy graphic novels or virtual reality headsets.
