Dazzle Makes a Wish is the third book in the “Book Buddies” series. The series features toys that can be checked out from the library, just like books. For such a thin book I was amazed by how much story and heart was held inside. A little girl dealing with her family’s move and a wish to find a new friend, borrows a unicorn stuffie from the library. In this particular book, Maya learns how to stand up for herself as a pushy new girl comes to play. I love how the story empowers kids to talk about their emotions and problem solve. Being seen through the eyes of the doll gave the whole thing a warm and magical feeling.
