Written by Meika Hashimoto, Illustrated by Xindi Yan
Theo notices that his town shows no signs of Christmas. There are no twinkling lights, no Christmas carolers, and Christmas is only three days away. Instead of writing Santa a letter of wants, Theo writes one wish. During the night, his letter flies out the window to the North Pole. The next day Theo finds a letter that reads, “bring joy.” At home Theo has an idea and decorates the neighborhood. The next day Theo finds another letter that reads, “find harmony.” He goes caroling to the neighbors and one by one they join him. Christmas Day Theo’s parents have to go to work. Theo is disappointed, but his grandma, with the help of neighbors, steps in to make Christmas bright and Theo’s wish true. It would be a fun activity to make your own wishes (instead of lists) for Christmas.
