I really liked this book and think kids will like it too. The monsters in the book are really just animals being animals. The way the people in the book treat the monsters is the same as our society has treated some animals that are extinct now. I also thought it was interesting that the main character is sometimes treated like she is awful and not ok. I liked how she learned to react differently and use that part of herself for the better.
