This is a picture book autobiography of how the famous musician Roberta flack got her first piano and learned to play. She grew up poor in money but rich in love in North Carolina. Her family loved music. One day her father found a broken piano at the dump. He bought it and fixed it up, then painted it green. Roberta considered it a miracle. The storyline was engaging and fun. There were themes of family love, persevering, and following your dreams. The illustrations were darling and this would make a great read aloud in the library. Highly recommend!
