Jo and her coworkers are celebrating their last night at Riverview Theaters. While cleaning up for the night, the manager’s wife shows up yelling at him. Soon, Jo finds one of her coworkers recently murdered. Not long after, the lights go out and the mall doors get sealed. With no phones available and each teen hiding their own secrets, the remaining individuals are forced to use their wits and trust each other to survive the night. Can the group get out alive and stop the killer?
Told through Jo’s point of view and with mixed media accounts, the author does a great job of bringing Jo’s world to life. The plot is suspenseful and intriguing. The characters are engaging and interesting. Fans of murder mysteries, thrillers, and suspense will enjoy reading this book. 4 stars, Gr 8 and up.
